There is a huge difference between being born disabled and becoming disabled by accident. A person suddenly becoming disabled and inactive leads to being physically challenged, mentally depressed and the worst is losing their job. If he/she is only the income earning person in the family, then the whole family suffers for life time. Disabled people are struggling to get jobs, Especially SCI because of their dependency and are not able to re-join their work. There is a lack of support for them to take up an income generating activity. All these make them inactive and depressed. Due to this many PwSCI become suicidal.
Program Objective:
To develop the socio-economic conditions of the People with Spinal cord Injury and their families.
To alleviate poverty, and create employment and income generating opportunities.
To develop capacity and upgrade the vocational skills of the target people.
To provide initial capital funds/units for undertaking income generating activities and inculcating self-confidence in running of small/petty shops.
The long-term objective is to link them to local buyers/distributors, to ensure the produced products are sold and income is generated.
Assist PwSCI to take up income-generating activity, reduce their dependence on the family to meet their expenses, and keep them active to avoid depression and pressure sore.
Our Approach :
- Income generating idea
Marketing Support
Training & follow up
Partial Financial Assistance
Material and Machinery Support
